Implant-Supported Dentures in Deerfield Beach

Implant-Supported Dentures in Deerfield Beach

Maybe your removable denture fit well when you first got it, but now you line it with adhesive twice a day, avoid salads and steak at family dinners, and feel it shift when you laugh. Or perhaps you're facing the loss of several failing teeth and want to know whether there's something sturdier than a plate that rests on your gums. Those are the conversations we have most often with our Deerfield Beach patients, and implant-supported dentures are usually at the center of them.

An implant-supported denture is a full arch of replacement teeth that anchors to dental implants placed in your jawbone rather than resting loosely on your gum tissue. The implants act like roots. Once your bone has healed around them, they hold the denture firmly in place, so chewing force transfers into the jaw instead of pressing down on soft tissue. That single difference is why so many people describe the result as feeling closer to natural teeth.

There are several ways to build one. Some arches are supported by four implants, some by six, and our All-on-X approach simply means we choose the number and placement based on what your bone and bite call for rather than forcing every case into the same template. Depending on your needs, a restoration may be fixed in place or designed to be removed by us for cleaning and maintenance. We also place implant-supported bridges when only a section of the arch needs replacing, so you aren't committed to a full arch if you don't need one.

Most adults missing all or most of the teeth in an arch are worth evaluating, including those who already wear a traditional denture and want more stability. Good candidacy depends less on age than on gum health and available bone. Because we're a periodontal practice, that's exactly where we start. Untreated gum disease has to be addressed before implants go in, and we provide gum disease treatment, gum grafting, and periodontal regeneration as part of getting the foundation ready.

If years of tooth loss have left the ridge thin or shallow, that doesn't automatically rule you out. Bone grafting and ridge augmentation can rebuild volume and contour so implants have something solid to hold. Sometimes crown lengthening or cosmetic gum contouring also plays a role in shaping a natural-looking transition between the restoration and your gumline. We'll explain honestly which of these steps apply to you and which don't.

What the Process Looks Like

Your first visit is a conversation and an examination. We assess your gums, bone, bite, and what your current denture or remaining teeth are doing, then outline a sequence and a timeline you can picture. Any preparatory periodontal or grafting work comes first, with healing time built in.

Implant placement is a surgical appointment performed by our board-certified periodontist. After placement, the implants need time to integrate with the bone before they can carry a full arch. During that period you won't be left without teeth — we plan the transition so you have a workable restoration while healing progresses. Our on-site dental lab is a real advantage here, because adjustments to fit, shade, and contour can be handled without shipping your case out and waiting.

  • One coordinated team for periodontal therapy, grafting, implant placement, and long-term maintenance
  • An on-site lab for faster adjustments and closer control over how your teeth look
  • Stability that lets you eat and speak without adhesive or shifting
  • Chewing force supported by the jawbone rather than the gum tissue
  • No referral required to be seen
  • Four, six, or All-on-X configurations matched to your anatomy

Caring for Your Restoration Long Term

Implants don't get cavities, but the gum and bone around them still need attention. Daily cleaning under and around the arch, following the routine we show you, is the single biggest factor in keeping things healthy. We review technique at your appointments and adjust it as needed.

We also provide ongoing implant maintenance visits, where we check the tissue around each implant, confirm the restoration is seated and torqued correctly, and look for early signs of inflammation. Catching irritation early is far easier than treating bone loss later. Our oral hygiene care continues for as long as you're with us.

Payment and Getting Started from Deerfield Beach

We're an out-of-network, fee-for-service office and do not take insurance. We do welcome self-pay and cash patients, and because we file claims as a specialist in our periodontal practice, we can help you understand what documentation to submit on your own behalf.

Deerfield Beach patients fit naturally into our practice alongside neighbors from Boca Raton, Highland Beach, and Delray Beach. You don't need a referral to schedule. Call us and we'll start with that first evaluation, give you a clear written plan, and talk through costs before any treatment begins.
