All-on-X Dental Implants in Delray Beach

All-on-X Dental Implants in Delray Beach

If you're in Delray Beach and tired of a denture that slips at dinner, or you've been told several failing teeth need to come out, full-arch implant treatment may be the answer you've been circling for a while. All-on-X dental implants replace an entire arch of teeth — upper, lower, or both — with a fixed bridge anchored to a small number of implants set into the jawbone. No adhesives, no plate covering the roof of your mouth, and no removing anything at night.

The "X" in All-on-X simply stands for the number of implants used to support the arch. The most common configurations are All-on-4 and All-on-6, and the right one depends on your bone volume, your bite, and the plan we build together for your mouth.

All-on-4 uses four implants per arch, with the rear implants placed at an angle to take advantage of denser bone toward the front of the jaw. That angulation often allows us to avoid areas where bone has receded after long-term tooth loss or denture wear. It tends to suit patients who want the most streamlined path to a fixed arch and whose bite forces can be well distributed across four well-positioned implants.

All-on-6 adds two more implants, spreading the load of chewing across a wider footprint. Patients with heavier bite forces, those who grind, or those with enough bone to support additional fixtures often benefit from this extra support and the added redundancy it provides. During your consultation here in our office, we review imaging with you and explain plainly why we're recommending four, six, or something in between — this is a planning decision, not a sales decision.

Who Makes a Good Candidate

Most adults missing all or most of the teeth in an arch are worth evaluating, including Delray Beach patients who currently wear a conventional denture and are unhappy with it. Candidacy comes down to bone, gum health, and overall readiness for a surgical procedure. Because we're a periodontal practice, gum and bone health is our daily focus, which matters a great deal in full-arch work.

If active gum disease is present, we treat it first — stable tissue is the foundation everything else rests on. If bone has thinned, bone grafting or ridge augmentation can rebuild the site so implants have something solid to anchor into. Some patients need gum grafting to restore tissue around the arch. You do not need a referral from another dentist to be seen; you can call us directly.

What the Process Looks Like

  • A consultation and imaging appointment, where we map bone volume and discuss All-on-4 versus All-on-6
  • Any preparatory care needed — periodontal treatment, extractions, bone grafting, or ridge augmentation
  • Implant placement surgery, performed by our board-certified periodontist
  • A healing period while the implants integrate with the bone
  • Fabrication and fitting of your final fixed arch, supported by our on-site dental lab
  • Follow-up visits and ongoing implant maintenance

Having a lab on site is a practical advantage for Delray Beach patients. Adjustments and fabrication steps that often require shipping cases out and waiting can frequently be handled here, which means fewer trips and tighter control over how your arch fits and looks. We'd rather make a small refinement the same day than send you home with something that isn't right.

Caring for Your New Teeth

A fixed arch is cleaned much like natural teeth, with brushing twice daily and careful cleaning underneath the bridge where it meets the gum. We'll show you the specific tools and technique for your restoration before you leave with it, and we'll go over it again at follow-ups until it feels routine.

Long-term, implant maintenance visits are how full-arch cases stay healthy for the long haul. We check the tissue around each implant, assess the fit and condition of the bridge, and clean areas you can't reach at home. For patients who also have natural teeth remaining elsewhere, we fold that into your regular oral hygiene care so everything is monitored in one place.

Payment and Financing

We are an out-of-network, fee-for-service office and do not take insurance. We do file claims as a specialist, which can help you seek reimbursement directly from your carrier depending on your plan's out-of-network benefits. We also welcome self-pay and cash patients.

Before treatment begins, you'll receive a clear written breakdown of what your case involves and what it costs, including any preparatory procedures. Full-arch treatment is a significant decision, and we want Delray Beach patients weighing it to have complete information — not a surprise partway through. Call our office to schedule a consultation and we'll walk through your options together.
