Full Mouth Dental Implants in Delray Beach

Losing most or all of your teeth changes the small things first — how a sandwich tastes, whether you speak up at dinner, how long you spend adjusting a denture before leaving the house. For many of our Delray Beach patients, that daily friction is what finally brings them in. Full mouth dental implants address the problem at its root by rebuilding the foundation of the bite, not just covering it up.

Full mouth dental implants replace an entire arch — upper, lower, or both — using titanium implant posts placed directly into the jawbone. Those posts act like artificial tooth roots. Once they fuse with the bone, they support a fixed bridge or an implant-supported denture that stays put. Depending on bone volume and the shape of your jaw, that support may come from four implants (All-on-4), six implants (All-on-6), or another configuration we plan case by case under the broader All-on-X approach.

The difference from a traditional denture is structural. A removable denture rests on the gums and relies on suction, adhesive, or clasps. An implant-supported restoration transfers chewing force into the bone the way natural roots do, which helps preserve the jaw over time. Patients often tell us the change they notice first is confidence — no slipping while speaking, no removing anything at the table. We also offer implant-supported bridges for patients who still have healthy teeth worth keeping, so a full-arch solution is not the only path we discuss.

Most adults missing all or nearly all of their teeth in one or both arches are worth evaluating, including people currently wearing dentures they dislike and people facing extraction of failing teeth from advanced gum disease. Because we are a periodontal practice, gum and bone health is where we start. If periodontal disease is active, we treat it first; healthy tissue is what makes implants last.

Bone volume is the other major factor, and a thin or resorbed ridge does not automatically disqualify you. We perform bone grafting and ridge augmentation to rebuild areas that have shrunk after tooth loss, and we offer periodontal regeneration where it is appropriate. Smokers, patients with uncontrolled medical conditions, and those with significant bone loss need a more careful conversation, and we will tell you honestly if a different option makes more sense. We accept patients without a referral, so Delray Beach residents can schedule a consultation directly with us.

What the Process Looks Like

Treatment begins with a thorough exam and imaging so we can map bone height, density, and nerve position before anything is planned. We review your bite, your goals, and whether one arch or both is involved, then build a written treatment plan with sequencing and costs laid out before you commit to anything.

Surgery day typically includes removal of any remaining failing teeth, site preparation, and placement of the implants. A temporary restoration is often fitted so you are not without teeth. Healing and integration follow over the next several months, during which the bone bonds to the implants. We then move to the final prosthesis, where our on-site dental lab is a practical advantage — adjustments and fabrication happen in-house rather than being shipped out, which shortens turnaround for Delray Beach patients and gives us direct control over fit and appearance. Where gum symmetry affects the final look, we can perform cosmetic gum contouring or crown lengthening.

Here is what patients can generally expect:

  • A consultation with imaging, a periodontal evaluation, and a written plan
  • Any needed preparatory work such as gum disease treatment or bone grafting
  • Implant placement, usually with a temporary restoration the same day
  • A healing period while the implants integrate with bone
  • Delivery and fine-tuning of the final fixed or implant-supported restoration

Aftercare and Long-Term Maintenance

The first few days call for soft foods, prescribed rinses, and rest. Mild swelling and soreness are normal. We see you for follow-up visits to confirm the sites are healing cleanly and to adjust the temporary as the tissue settles.

Long term, implants need the same diligence as natural teeth. Daily brushing, cleaning under the bridge with floss threaders or a water flosser, and regular implant maintenance visits with us protect against peri-implant inflammation — the leading cause of implant failure. As periodontists, monitoring that tissue is our core expertise, and we build it into your ongoing care schedule.

Payment and Financing

We are an out-of-network, fee-for-service office and do not take insurance. For patients with a specialist benefit, we file claims as a Specialist so you can seek reimbursement directly from your carrier.

We welcome self-pay and cash patients, and we quote full mouth implant treatment transparently before treatment begins, including any grafting or periodontal therapy required. Ask us about payment arrangements during your consultation so you can plan with real numbers rather than estimates.
