Losing most or all of the teeth in an upper or lower jaw changes daily life in very practical ways: which foods you avoid, how you speak on the phone, whether you reach for adhesive before leaving the house. Full arch dental implants address that whole arch at once, replacing a complete set of teeth with a fixed restoration anchored to implants set in the jawbone. Instead of restoring teeth one at a time, we rebuild the entire arch on a small number of strategically placed implants — a solution designed to stay put, function like natural teeth, and support the shape of your face.

A full arch restoration uses dental implants — small posts placed into the jawbone — as anchors for a bridge that replaces all the teeth in one jaw. Depending on bone volume and bite forces, that may mean All-on-4, All-on-6, or another All-on-X configuration. The number isn't arbitrary: it reflects how much healthy bone is available, where that bone is densest, and how much support your restoration needs to handle chewing comfortably over the long term.

This approach helps several very different groups. Some patients have worn removable dentures for years and are tired of slipping, sore spots, and a limited diet. Others still have teeth, but advanced gum disease has loosened them past the point of saving, and they'd rather plan a full solution than lose teeth one by one. Still others face failing bridgework or long-standing bone loss. As a periodontal practice, we also treat the underlying gum disease that frequently causes tooth loss in the first place, so the conditions supporting your new teeth are addressed, not ignored.

Candidacy comes down to bone, gum health, and overall readiness for a surgical procedure. We evaluate the quantity and quality of bone in each arch, the condition of your gum tissue, your bite, and any remaining teeth. When bone has resorbed after years of missing teeth or periodontal disease, that doesn't automatically rule you out — bone grafting and ridge augmentation can rebuild the foundation an implant needs, and periodontal regeneration can help restore support that disease has taken away. Gum grafting is available when tissue needs reinforcing around the final restoration.

It also helps to know what the commitment involves. Full arch treatment is a staged process that includes planning, surgery, a healing period while the implants integrate with bone, and the fitting of your final restoration. Our on-site dental lab is a meaningful part of that — it allows close coordination on the fit, shade, and shape of your teeth, and shortens the back-and-forth that often slows lab work down. A board-certified periodontist is on staff, and we accept patients without a referral, so you can start the conversation directly with us.

Aftercare, Maintenance, and What Results Look Like

Immediately after surgery, expect a soft-food period and specific instructions on cleaning, rest, and follow-up visits. We review all of this with you in person, because recovery varies with how many implants were placed and whether grafting was part of the procedure. The healing phase matters: implants need time to fuse with bone before they carry full chewing force.

Long term, implant-supported teeth are cared for much like natural teeth, with a few differences around the bridge and gum line. Our implant maintenance program exists for exactly this reason. Ongoing care typically focuses on:

  • Daily cleaning around and under the restoration, using the tools and technique we demonstrate
  • Regular professional cleanings and periodontal checks
  • Monitoring the gum tissue and bone surrounding each implant
  • Examining the restoration itself for wear, fit, and stability
  • Managing any gum disease history so inflammation doesn't threaten your results

Because implants are anchored in bone, most people find chewing, speaking, and confidence improve substantially compared with removable dentures — and there's no adhesive involved.
